Forgive and forget

I’m bound to get some flak on this entry but whatever. I’ll make this short.

There’s this saying:

Forgive and forget

I disagree.

You forgive someone for a transgression against you. Both make amends to tie loose ends. Steps are/were taken to prevent the situation from happening again.
That means both parties learned. If you forget, that would be a foolish thing to do, cursed to repeat the past. China is a great example of this thought. See how they remember so much of their history that they do everything to remember.

Oh, wait…

Conversely, Filipinos tend to forget a lot.
Morons love fallacies.

Therefore, I propose this:

Forgive and learn
